For the last few years, I've traveled back to Philadelphia to help out my high school friend, Seth, at the Philadelphia Flower Show. After volunteering to help them in the gift shop, they saw that I had a natural instinct for managing people and I've come back for two years to help manage the two gift shops in side the giant Pennsylvania Convention Center.
The theme this year was the celebration of 100 years of the National Parks Service and featured displays of some of the US National Parks. This was the first year that we had real register system and the first time that I got to hand count all the cash on my own!
Traveling back to Philly, also allows me to catch up with some old friends from when I lived there in 2008-2009. And, of course, to eat some great food at the same time! Yes, there's lots of Philly stops in the "Eat" portion of my blog.
Other highlights: seeing Rob Marciano from Good Morning America film a live TV segment, just missing Martha Stewart, visiting Reading Terminal daily for treats and hunting for the Keating 5 from How to Get Away With Murder.
